Elementary Kids Experience 02-07-21

W E E K 1  - Elementary and PreTeen

Key Question: What does kindness look like? In some ways, kindness can feel subjective. What one person sees as an act of kindness another might see as an obligation. That’s why we start this month by sharing with our kids, a conversation about kindness. When you can identify what kindness can look like, you start to see all the ways you can show God’s kindness to others.

In Ephesians 4:32, Paul wrote, “Be kind and tender to one another. Forgive one another, just as God forgave you because of what Christ has done.” (NIrV). Even when we were separated from God, He showed us kindness through sending Jesus to rescue us and model what kindness can look like in our lives.

Bottom Line: Be kind to others because God is kind to you. As we follow Jesus and look for ways to reflect His love to the people around us, kindness is one of the easiest ways to do that. God was so incredibly kind to us, that we can help but to be kind to the people we meet.

Elementary Message Summary:

  • Bible Story: Humble and Kind (God Was Kind to Us) • Ephesians 4:32

  • Today’s Bottom Line: Be kind to others because God is kind to you.

  • Monthly Memory Verse: You are God’s chosen people. You are holy and dearly loved. So put on tender mercy and kindness as if they were your clothes. Don’t be proud. Be gentle and patient. Colossians 3:12 (NIrV)

  • Monthly Life App: Kindness—Showing others they are valuable by how you treat them

  • Basic Truth: I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

W E E K 1 - PreK

Story Focus: Jesus loves me. We will begin, week one, with the beautiful story of Jesus and the children. We want our preschoolers to hear, loud and clear, Jesus saying, ‘Let the children come to me.’ Let Maggie come to me. Let Jamar come to me. Let Isabella come to me. Let ALL the children come to me. It is our sincerest hope that, as preschoolers hear Jesus saying, ‘let the children come to me,’ that they will also hear, Jesus loves me. Because every child was made for His love.

PreK Message Summary:

  • Bible Story Focus: Jesus loves me. Jesus and the Children • Luke 18:15-16

  • Memory Verse: “A friend loves at all times.” Proverbs 17:17, NIrV

  • Key Question: Who loves you?

  • Bottom Line: Jesus loves me.

  • Basic Truth: Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
