Welcome to Virtual Kids Church: Dec. 27, 2020

W E E K 4  - Elementary and PreTeen

Key Question: What does it mean to have peace? When kids hear the word “peace” they might think it has something to do with not fighting or not going to war. However, as we finish up the Christmas story, we learn that peace can be an attitude we decide to practice. We pray that through this question and the discussions that follow, kids will understand that no matter what is happening in their lives or around the world they can have peace of heart and mind through Jesus.

We finish up the month in Luke 2:8-20. After Jesus was born, the first people to find out are some unassuming shepherds in a field minding their own business. The angle announced Jesus’ birth along with an angle choir that proclaimed God’s peace for everyone on earth. They rushed to see the baby for themselves. They were so excited that they spent the rest of the night telling everyone they could about Jesus.

Bottom Line: God’s peace is for everyone. When life seems out of our control, peace can be hard to find, especially at Christmastime. Yet Christmas is all about the coming of Jesus, the Savior, who offers God’s peace all people, everywhere. We pray that kids come to a new understanding of peace. We hope that this Christmas kids everywhere would come to know God’s love and believe that Jesus truly is the Savior of the world.
