Virtual Kids Church - November 8, 2020

Welcome to Virtual Kids Church: Nov. 8, 2020

W E E K 2  - Elementary and PreTeen

Key Question: What are creative ways to show gratitude? Saying thank you doesn’t have to feel like a chore. Kids have great imaginations that can run wild as they discover all sorts of fun ways they can show gratitude to God and others.

This week, we head to 2 Samuel 6:12b-22a where we find King David in a powerful moment in Israel’s history. David had the privilege of bringing the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem. He was so overwhelmed with gratitude and excitement that he danced and celebrated. David was willing to make himself look foolish to give God the credit He deserved.

Bottom Line: Celebrate what God has done. Just like King David took time to thank God for His faithfulness, we pray that kids will do the same. Even in a strange year like 2020, God has still done so much for us. We pray that kids will take time to celebrate and offer thanks to God.

Elementary Message Summary:

  • Bible Story:   I Just Want to Celebrate (David Dances) • 2 Samuel 6:12b-22a

  • Today’s Bottom Line: Celebrate what God has done.

  • Monthly Memory Verse: Give thanks to the Lord, because he is good. His faithful love continues forever. Psalm 136:1 (NIrV)

  • Monthly Life App: Gratitude—Letting others know you see how they’ve helped you

  • Basic Truth: I can trust God no matter what.

W E E K 2 - PreK

Story Focus: I can thank God for food. Week two, we will hear the story about Elijah and a widow who only had enough food left for one small meal—that is until God showed up! God gave the widow all the food she needed. So when our preschoolers see food, we want them to say, “Thank You, God!” Mac and cheese… Mmmm…Thank You, God! Vanilla ice cream…thank You, God! Apple slices…Thank You, God!

PreK Message Summary:

  • Bible Story Focus: I can thank God for food.  Elijah and the Widow • 1 Kings 17:7-16

  • Memory Verse: “Give thanks to the Lord for he is good.” Psalm 107:1, NIV

  • Key Question: Who is good?

  • Bottom Line: God is good.

  • Basic Truth: God made me.
