Welcome to Virtual Kids Church: June 13, 2021
W E E K 2 - Elementary and PreTeen
Key Question: When have you needed a plan? We start with this question to get preteens thinking about the sorts of plans they’ve created in their life. Some plans are great; others, not so much. Just because you have a plan doesn’t mean it’s best. We pray that kids will consider how aligning their plans with God’s plan gives them the best chance for confidence in life.
In week two, we head to Joshua 5:13-6:20. God recently chose Joshua as the next leader of the Israelites. Joshua’s first task was a doozy. He was leading God’s people into the promise land, including taking the giant city of Jericho. God’s plan might have seemed a bit crazy, but Joshua had confidence that God’s plan would work. He led the people, and God came through for them.
Bottom Line: God’s plan is the best plan. The writers of the Bible remind us over and over that the plans we make are nothing compared to the plans God has for our life. We pray that kids will start to discover how much God loves them and wants what’s best for them. When we follow God’s plan, we can have confidence that it’s the best plan.
