Virtual Kids Church - October 11, 2020

Welcome to Virtual Kids Church: Oct. 11, 2020

In week two, Elementary and PreTeen kids head to 1 John 1:9. John writes, "God is faithful and fair. If we confess our sins, he will forgive our sins. He will forgive every wrong thing we have done. He will make us pure."  You don’t have to keep secrets from God. God loves you and is ready to forgive you.

Bottom Line: Being truthful with God keeps you close to Him. While we often think of this in terms of confession and forgiveness, we can also be truthful with God with our feelings and questions. God doesn’t look down on us because of our doubts and confusion, even our mistakes. God created us, loves us, and wants to hear from us. God is ready to forgive and we can trust God no matter what.

As our children grow up, it’s important to help them understand what it means to talk to God in prayer. Prayer is more than asking God for what we want. God wants to hear what’s on our hearts and minds. We can confess what we’ve done wrong. We can ask our questions. We can be honest with how we’re really feeling about life. We pray that the kids will use this question, "What do you talk to God about?'" to start to see God in a whole new way.

Preschoolers head into week two, by learning about  a mother who trusted that God’s has her covered as she puts her baby, Moses, in a basket and hides him among the reeds on a river bank.
